Coolum

Coolum is one of my favourite places/beaches on the Sunshine Coast, even though it's currently winter here in Australia it's still a fun place to visit :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Harajuku Gyoza - Brisbane

On Saturday night I got to catch up with my friends and finally eat at Harajuku Gyoza in the city. I've tried to go before but as they dont take bookings it's a long wait to get a table! The secret is...go just on six! As one of my friends Mel said, food is average - great but it's the atmosphere that makes this place rock, lots of cheering (especially if you order sake!) and it really took me back to the izakaya's in Japan! *thumbs up*

If you go definitely order the chicken karaage! Yummo!

We have six months though before we're booted out, which is amazing and probably the best outcome. It's good not to stay stagnant somewhere but it's also nice to not be rushed too :p Life is good!

Moth Queen

One of Ben's many nicknames for me is Moth Queen, actually I think that might be the rapper name he gave me but unfortunately I can't rap, oops! I do love moths though, I remember when I was little my best friend in my ballet class and I used to go around collecting the dead moths off the ground before class, lol. We bonded through our strange-ness :) She was rad whilst all the other chicks were mean rich brats, who probably made fun of us for our moth addiction :p. Anyway I spotted this huge moth sitting outside a gym window the other day and had to snap a picture :) Did you know that moths are just misunderstood butterflies :p

In other news it's house auction day today...will we be moving or not...da da daaaa!

This made me giggle in the op shop the other day...a potato mouse ornament!

Well that's what I think it's meant to be :p

 

A roll of film

I finally got back a roll of film that has been sitting in my camera for months now. Ever since my film camera's light metre broke, i've been neglecting it and choosing my digital camera as my weapon of choice. I did manage to pick up my dream film camera from the op shop the other day, so I'm going to shoot off a roll of film in it and fingers crossed the photos come back all good :) I also bought a bunch of different rolls of film to try out, inspired by this lovely girl's blog which i'm excited about. Actually, I've been reading a few new blogs of late, including this one, very inspiring and I can't wait to get back into film :)

Floating Land - Part 2

 

 

So I did venture back to Floating Land on Thursday just as the sun was setting. There were various artworks illuminated but not too much light projections, still it was fun to walk the banks and I now have a new fond appreciation for Boreen point :) I did notice a few new artworks or artworks growing, so that was nice (btw if you would like to know the artwork/artist name just click on the photos).

Jeff The Big Dino

On the last day with Ben we went off to the Palmer Coolum resort to check out this Big T-Rex which had outraged many Coolum residents on Facebook. I remember reading the thread and people saying it was such an eye sore and how it was going to bring their coolum properties down and all sorts of craziness. Turns out Jeff the T-Rex is only visible from inside the actual resort so I think it's pretty silly all those people were in a such a stink :p. Jeff is all sorts of rad and apparently he is going to be animatronic (though he wasn't working when we went). All up I think there is around 165 dinosaurs going to make their way to the resort!! So cool. When we went we only saw Jeff and 'Bones' who funny enough is a replica dinosaur skeleton. Though we did miss out on a couple of smaller dinosaurs around the resort. I'm going to drag Ben back when he arrives home! He he
